What are the System Requirements? Does eZ work on a MacIntosh?
eZ requires 30 MB of free hard disk space, and will work with Windows 98, NT, 2000, and XP. An Internet connection is required. We do not currently support the Mac platform.

I don’t have an eZnetwork ID or password. Where do I get one?
If your license administrator has not provided an eZnetwork ID and password for you, you can create a new one on your own. On the registration form, enter a name of your choosing. Don’t use any spaces, periods, or other special characters. Enter a password and email, and click “submit”.

When I try to register, I get an “error 450”. What does this mean?
An error 450 means that eZ was unable to connect with our servers. See the Troubleshooting eZ Registration document for possible causes.

When I start eZ, my LaunchPad doesn’t have the option to Join a Conference or Start a Conference. What’s up?
Your eZ license is expired, or eZ cannot retrieve your license. Check your Internet connection to make sure you’re online. If you are, then eZ is reporting that your license is expired, and you are in “free viewer” mode. If you believe you should have a valid license, call eZmeeting customer support at 318-449-9973 or email support@ezmeeting.com. Give us your registered eZnetwork ID and the company name your license is under. (You can always see your eZnetwork ID in the title bar of the eZLaunchPad.)

Does everyone in the meeting need to install the eZ software?
Yes, everyone will use the eZ software to connect to the meeting and view the meeting documents.

Can anyone with eZ start a meeting?
Anyone who is a member of a valid, active license can start or join meetings. You do not have to be the license administrator.

Does everyone need to log into the eZ Web Center to join the meeting?
No, the eZ Web Center is simply a convenient place for downloading eZ and learning more about the software. It is not used in a meeting.

When I start a meeting, eZ asks me for a password. Is this the password I used when I registered?
No, the meeting password is only used to protect that particular meeting. You can use any password you choose. When others join your meeting, they will have to enter the password before they can join.

Can others in my meeting see the files on my hard drive?
No, with eZconference others can only see the documents you insert into the meeting. (eZdesktop users may choose to allow others to see or control their computer remotely.)

Troubleshooting eZ Registration - Error 450
Explanation:
Error 450 indicates that the eZ software is unable to connect to our servers over the Internet, and therefore, you are unable to register or log in.
Common Causes:
1.There may be a “personal firewall application” on your computer that is not allowing eZ to access the Internet. For example, this could be Norton Internet Security, the McAffee Firewall, the Windows XP Firewall, or other similar program. These firewalls can all be configured to allow specified programs access the Internet.
2.You are in a network that restricts Internet access by domain or IP address, and eZ has not been approved. One way to test this is to enter the following web address into your web browser: http://brkasp01.ezmeeting.com. If you see a white page with the word “success”, then your browser successfully reached our servers.
3.Your network may use an http proxy to restrict traffic over port 80. While eZ can successfully navigate most proxies, occasionally it will not be able to do so. If you have an http proxy in your network, you can configure eZ to use a different port for login and registration. To do so, locate the file “wax.ini” in the eZ program folder. By default, this will be
c:\program files\eZ\eZ\wax.ini. Open the wax.ini file and locate the line that states “BrokerPort=80”. Change the line to say “BrokerPort=8081” (do not type the quotes). Also, add a new line that says “ProxyOverride=1” (do not type the quotes). Save the wax.ini file and restart eZ.
